Cape Lookout, Oregon

When we first started planing the Summer trip, our plan was to Camp Host for a month in five different Oregon State Parks. That changed once in the Cape Lookout State Park. The Park Ranger offered us four months Camp Hosting in the same camp site.  A beautiful place with cool WX even mid Summer, no diesel fuel to get to a new camp and no breaking and re-setting up camp for four months. Yes was a no brainer.

The view of Cape Lookout from one of the cabins:

We are in what is known as "June Gloom", drizzling rain most days for at least a few hours but instead of the Tucson 100F+ temps we have temps in the mid 60's.

We have been offered a Camp Host position and accepted a return for four month starting June 2022.

This retirement thing ain't all bad :-).

    1. Steve,

The Oregon coast rains start in Oct and end around the middle of June. We are in the tail end of the season now. That's mostly the reason our house is in Tucson :-). I expect we will move inland and South after the four months. This RV living ain't too bad, so far MsBubba and I haven't offed the other and we are even still speaking :-).

  2. Looks like a really beautiful place to be! Enjoy the fresh air. We were east Quebec 2 weeks ago and we appreciated the chilly weather, more than the 35C when we were back home.

    1. Lionel,

It doesn't get better than Summer on the coast of Oregon. June is still a little wet but July, August, and September are close to perfect. By Oct. it will start to rain again and that is when we will move to camps that are farther South, it will still rain but not as much.

I can understand, Tucson was over 38C when we left for Oregon and since then some days over 40C. I do not think this part of the coast has been 25C yet although I expect we will see some 30C and above temps soon.
