Close to Finished

All the parts are made and more or less fitted, still lots of clean up to go but I had to give it a go as is. While the dumbhead is not attached and pegged to the swing arm it holds tenaciously. Once cleaned up this sucker will be a very good shavehorse.

  1. One project done, and if you are like me, 9999 to go :)
Wish you and yours a happy new year Ken. Be safe and healthy and enjoy your retirement!

    1. Lionel,

      Ain't that the truth.

2021 has to be better than 2020, no way it could be worse other than a meteorite extinction event.

You'll take care, wear your masks and be safe and we will all live to fight another day.

  2. Happy new year.
2021 should be better although we don't expect to reach the 70% vaccination here before next autumn.

    1. Sylvain,

Happy new year. The current administration had to screw the pooch one last time before going out the door and you may beat us to the 70%.

    1. Ralph,

Will do but it is now cut off and bent so it doesn't stick out and I have a "handle" to pull it out and push it back in.

  4. Not sure what that metal rod does but curious to learn more.

Spent my first day of the year, putting stuff away in the shop. Apparently, tools from previous blog posts piling up in the Man cave were not appropriate. Who knew?? :-)

Bob, who is going to need more than one day to put everything away

    1. Bob,

The rod is the swing arm pivot. It wasn't cut to size in the photo, will be in the next update.

Yep that is my afternoon and tomorrow project, get the tool room cleaned out enough to use.

      I feel your pain,
