Leg Module Rough Fit

Both legs have been fitted with the cross piece. Next is chopping the stretcher mortise and cleaning up the leg moduals .

This sucker is getting close to the short rows. My problem once here I start losing interest, I need Ralph to move next door so he can do the finishing.

All my life I've been a framer, never a finish carpenter.  I use to love framing building, getting them to dried in then at the end of the day sitting back with a beer and enjoying seeing what we have done.

  1. I want to do someone else's finishing as much as I want to stab a one tine, dull fork, repeatedly into my right eye. I wouldn't mind moving next door to you if you would do my sharpening.

    1. Ralph,

LOL but I expect your finishing is better than my sharpening. One advantage, I do not think it has ever snowed in April. If it does I'm moving farther South.

    2. I just wanted to add, the delightful MsBubba and I had afternoon drinks in the pool. It was a couple of weeks late because the solar was disabled while we re-coated the roof but damn nice and will be better tomorrow.

    3. Ken, that looks so boring! You would enjoy to see the snow melting just to reveal all the junk, leaves or dry grass left behind that you will spend hours to cleanup. I cannot understand ones who prefer to enjoy a drink in a pool :)

    4. Lionel,

Yep, life is tough here in the desert. I had a senior moment the other day and went looking for my snow shovel and my lawn mower, then remembered I threw 'em in the trash 15 years ago :-).

The daily question for the next 7 months is Martini or whisky.

  2. Oh, yeah, that ritual has long been my favorite thing to do at the end of a working day. Sit with a drink and admire my work :-)
So far today was finishing my Tom Clancy book, Duty & Honor, then spent most of rest figuring out on line which book I'm supposed to read next, and do I have it. Turn out I am 3 Tom Clancy book out and 2 Clive Cussler book out. Got a pile of books to catch up to with a drink :-)

Bob, admiring his new Excel spreadsheet tracking books, reading order, do I have it. Thing of beauty :-)

  3. Bob,

The most book time I get is just before lights out. That woman is a slave driver, I tell you a slave driver.

I expect I will go back to work for a few months before I really do retire. This period has been good, I have been afraid to retire but the last couple of months have shown me it may not be too bad. I've gotten pretty good at the coffee stained t-shirt and forgetting trash day routine.

    Take care and stay safe,
