Or maybe that should be in the Casper Beach RV Park just South of Ft. Bragg CA.
I set the bench up last night and even sawed a dovetail or two along with sharpening some iron. The bench works like a champ.
I can't get the photos to load, they do over on SMC...photos to follow when I can.
Ken
Ken,
ReplyDeleteI hope you are aware of and checking on the huge forest fire near Brookings. 140,000 acres, burning for nearly two months and only 10% contained. I'd check before I went up there.
Ken I went to SMC to look at the pic and the bench looks great. Question - the front middle mortise to the left of the vise looks to be empty? Optical illusion?
ReplyDeletesaw the post in neanderthal haven. yep, that's a nice setup. i hope your travels find inspiration for the bench. what a great way to break out into new ideas than to bring your creative workspace with you!!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of SMC.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it?
Any link?
Sylvain
Andy,
ReplyDeleteWe canceled our Oregon sites yesterday, It was hard to do because for the last 10 years our Oregon visit has been the year's highlight. Ft. Bragg is nice and it will be enjoyable as a base but....
Ken
Ralph,
ReplyDeleteOptical illusion:-), It's filled with a tenon.
Ken
Ango,
ReplyDeleteI know I keep repeating myself but it works much better than expected. I had hopes for it to hold my whisky and allow some turning larger hunks of wood into smaller ones. Instead it works well enough to use to build something.
Ken
Sylvain,
ReplyDeleteOn the iPad it's hard to embed a link....Do a google on "Sawmill Creek".
