I had a cardiac ablation done Monday morning. The rest of the day was spent in the Cardiac Recovery Room and then over night on the Cardiac floor. The procedure went well, the only bad part was having to lay flat on my back for two hours after coming out from under general anesthesia and a slightly sore throat.
I'll be off until Monday week (Texan for March 2nd). That is the good news, the bad is I'm not to lift anything over 10 lbs during that time. The Woodcraft Spring used tool sale/swap meet is this Saturday and odds are I will miss it.
One observation, the nurses have become very young and most have a large colorful tattoo running down their right forearm. Go figure.

I had to look the meaning of "cardiac ablation" because at first look it seemed to mean your heart would be removed.
ReplyDeleteI am also under the impression that working people are younger and younger. Would that be a false explanation?
Sylvain
Sylvain,
ReplyDeleteNope no removal :-). You have noticed that as well. My question is when did it happen :-).

I think this is more that 20 years ago if you were showing a tattoo yo would have been discarded right away. Nowadays minds are a bit more open. Or it can be that young nurse are sent to old blokes like us to distract us from reality lol.
DeleteKen, glad to hear your heart is still in place. Good luck making it 2 weeks without major tool handling.
ReplyDeleteSteve,
DeleteYep that is good news, even better is it seems to be fixed. MsBubba gives me the side eye if I even look at the shop...it is going to be a long couple of weeks.

This is good news Ken. I've been on that side a couple times (two time member of the 'zipper club') and my mother had an ablation a while back-made a huge improvement for her. Good luck with MsBubba.
ReplyDeleteChris,
DeleteThanks, not a fun club to join but it is good what they can do now. Always needed she is a tough woman, probably has to be to put up with me :-).

ReplyDeleteI know , people around us long younger and younger. Todays 40ish does no way near resemble peoples in their 40s was I was a kid. Mind you it was a different life for sure :-) Tattoos? yeah, they are coming out in drove, not a big fan.

Thanks Bob,
DeleteYep she is a task master. But I need the direction, have fun with the pups.

Speedy recovery Ken and go to the meet and just lift things 9 pounds or less.
ReplyDeleteRalph,
DeleteI think MsBubba will help move a few tools to the meet, no benches this time but a chair to set on and a small table for the tools.

Ken,
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well. My son had the crossed arms of a man and a dog tattooed on his bicep. I like dogs too but I think he is out of his mind. Then he had a leek tattooed on his other arm because it is the national symbol of Wales (in honor of his grandmother). He's nuts.
Andy,
ReplyDeleteAt least your son has style :-). The leek I like, my family came to the states from Wales long ago, or at least that is the oral history.
