Gave Notice Today

I'm going to do it, I told the suits I would give notice for the 1st of February but may work either full time or part time until June. By giving notice they can start the process of hiring my replacement. Dumb system, I just need to give a month's notice but the new hire once found and in the door will take 18 to 24 months to be fully qualified and at least a year after that to take over the "Super" TCE duties, if the Feds agree.

What ever, I'm hanging up the blue blazer and gray slacks soon, the Kool-Aid is finished and it is on to being MsBubba's boy toy.

    1. Ralph,

Truth is it has been a wonderful retirement job that lasted 14 years. The 14 years is hard to believe. I expected I'd work a couple or three years to try and give something back to an industry that had been very good to this dumb West Texas farm boy and then ride off into the sunset. It took a little longer than I expected to saddle up.

    1. Mark,

Yep, life will be OK. First change will be 5 months "Camp Hosting" for the Oregon State Parks this Summer and Fall. Which is the big reason for building the knock down shavehorse to go with the portable workbench.

    Boy toy?

You'll have to clean the pool first.

    1. Thanks Lionel,

It's MsBubba's list that worries me :-). The kids do not know it yet but they are all in line for new trash cans.

BTW, I'm trying to figure out how to take the grinder along with the workbench and shavehorse to Oregon this summer. The grinder makes sharpening the draw knife a lot easier.

    1. Bob,

Thanks but, there is that damn but I can never get rid of, 60+ years of habit is hard to break.

One thing is sure, I'll never rot on the couch. MsBubba will see to that. I may have to do some part time work just to get a little rest.
