As much as I enjoy building benches, I'm getting too old and weak to handle heavy slabs. There is not a part of me that doesn't ache.

ken I'm a OK guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11843155822153452980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12079088.post-55730841482550486302018-07-19T17:53:55.140-07:002018-07-19T17:53:55.140-07:00Steve,

There was still a little slippage but not much. A couple of passes with the jack and the slab was ready for the planer. Glue on my clamps is just part life. Stuff happens.

kenI'm a OK guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11843155822153452980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12079088.post-9880289580099539812018-07-19T10:36:48.210-07:002018-07-19T10:36:48.210-07:00Congrats on the top glue up. You obviously us the rosin paper in anticipation of glue dripping all over. Since most of your clamps are on one side of the assembly you can roll the top over to keep all the clamp bars clean.

I use pipe clamps alternating so I get glue on my clamps no matter what.Steve Dnoreply@blogger.com
