Milk painted carbon fiber would be way cooler than anything from the Schwarz.

Can you get carbon fabric remnants from any aircraft repair shops at your airfield?

SteveSteve Dnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12079088.post-22585395319496347992017-07-30T09:52:33.287-07:002017-07-30T09:52:33.287-07:00Steve,

The good news this base was as much a prototype as anything because of the design. If the bench works as well as I expect I will remake the base out of Beach or maybe Red Oak over the Winter.

BTW, I'm thanking about painting the base with a two tone milk paint. Most likely black over red.

ken I'm a OK guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11843155822153452980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12079088.post-84170689143010182662017-07-30T07:38:47.258-07:002017-07-30T07:38:47.258-07:00Hi Ken,

You pay more but it's much nicer to work and finish.

SteveSteve Dnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12079088.post-28707928735525340532017-07-30T07:15:02.675-07:002017-07-30T07:15:02.675-07:00Yep Ralph you have good eyes. The bench breaks down into 7 parts for travel, with the slab being the heaviest.

It's not the best build I've done and I expect to re-build the base using something other than DF after the Oregon trip. Construction grade DF is really ugly to work. My sharpening bench got a real workout, one of the reasons the following post is about the sharpening bench.

kenI'm a OK guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11843155822153452980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12079088.post-85338673783608237812017-07-30T03:25:53.255-07:002017-07-30T03:25:53.255-07:00Ken is that a bridle joint on the top of the leg a...Ken is that a bridle joint on the top of the leg ass'y? No sneakers on the leg assemblies neither? That would make the travel bench lighter.Ralph Boumenothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10606484453109932074noreply@blogger.com
